Savour Every Minute
Uninspired, for a while now. Mind is telling me it’s time for something new, but my heart is still attached to this little space on the www that for the past couple of years I’ve called my own x
agnès b. LE PAIN GRILLÉ
While I’d like to say that fashion cafes are usually just a very clever PR gimmick, I have to admit that the cakes at agnès b. LE PAIN GRILLÉ are genuinely lovely – light & just the right amount of sweet!
On another note, we’re flying to KL tomorrow for a short getaway with the pals! Have a good weekend, everyone xx
The Day We Walked “Home” In The Korean Rainstorm
Cafe Chang Hee / 78 Samcheongro, Jongno-gu, Seoul
Thinking it was a passing rain, we sought shelter in a cosy little cafe with a handwritten menu and drip brewed coffee from Africa, Brazil, Columbia, Costa Rica and other faraway places I would like to visit. We sat by the window and watched the droplets race down the glass as the sky turned darker and darker.
Hours passed before we finally realized that the rain wasn’t lightening up. So we got up, walked out and tried to flag a cab. To no avail. In the end, we walked 45 minutes in the pouring rain and thunder storm. Visibility was so bad that with water dripping down our faces faster than we could shake it off, we couldn’t even see past an arm’s length. We reached our hotel freezing cold and literally dripping wet, as though we had just come out of the pool with all our clothes on. It was crazy, but also a pretty awesome adventure. And I can’t think of anyone else I’d want to share it with.
Saint Honoré L’amour
Today, I met up with Kim.H for a lovely girls day out. We caught up over crepes & cakes at Antoinette, found ourselves fighting back tears in “A Little Bit of Heaven” and did some quick shopping, all in an afternoon! And then Rong came down to meet us for dinner, and we all trooped on to meet D for “coffee”.
I know this post is sounding annoyingly narrative “today-i-did-this-and-that”, but hey-
high-tea, chick-flick, retail-therapy, good friends & lover.
What more could a girl ask for, right?
From London, To Singapore
Jessie was in town over the weekend – a short stopover in Singapore on her way to Koh Samui – and it was so good to see her again after a whole year! We brought her for some local grub (famous chicken rice) and then settled into a chill afternoon at P.S. Cafe.
Over truffle fries & banana butterscotch, we filled each other in on the 12 months of absence – as it turns out: Jessie moved from London back to LA (her hometown) to Taiwan, and just recently moved in with her boo in Hong Kong- little miss jet setter. And Junny’s outdone herself (and us both, as usual) with her feature on Tatler’s Young Achievers. High time to up my game, get my act together.
Everything’s changed, but everyone’s still the same. Or maybe, everyone’s changed, but nothing’s different – just like old times. It was an amazing feeling, sitting with my girls, fondly remembering those 3 years of cold winter days, long morning classes, crazy nights out and Red Velvet cupcakes in the park. Till we’re together again, all my love xx
LIFE IS, EVERY MOMENT OF JOY
One of the many adorable cafes lining Sam-Cheong-Dong. We sat, people watching, and had the most delectable plates of Korean-Italian pasta. I wish we could have visited every single cafe, I would have liked to linger longer.
Zoo Coffee
Because, well, you really haven’t lived till you’ve had your afternoon caffeine fix with a panda for company, right? x
Hari Raya Weekend
A little delayed with the posting as usual: we worked through our Hari Raya weekend. Hopping from cafe to cafe, we sat glued to our computer screens and sketchbooks, stopping once and again to refuel with some all day breakfast, hearty soul food, good strong coffee and lots of ice cream. Wouldn’t it be lovely if every weekend was a long weekend? x
TWO WORLDS COLLIDE
School term at NUS starts next week – it’s that time of the year again to say goodbye to luxurious mornings with coffee, marmite toast, a good magazine and all the time in the world with you x
