Farewells are always difficult. This journal has been kind and happy, and so much more than just a journal. And I will miss it but I’m finally ready for something new.

So say hello to my new space: KIMBERLYKRISTENWONG.COM

(Photo of us at Lake District, England)

1649 days. That’s 2,374,560 minutes – and in this time, I cannot begin to count the number of times you’ve made me cry, but of this I’m sure: every single day you make me laugh. And for that, I Love You and I hope I’ll want to love you till my heart stops (or till you put a restraining order on me, whichever comes first!)

Happy Everyday-Is-Valentines-Day, my love x

A Candyland Wedding

Posted in 2011, Events, Family, Love, singapore by Kimberly Kristen Wong on October 12, 2011

(Outfit – Chiffon Dress, Topshop Love  / Sheer Cardigan, Vintage / Bag, Chanel / Accessories, Hermès & Aspial Lee Hwa / Watch, Franck Muller )

My eldest cousin got married two weeks ago – it was a lovely wedding all around. You know how at some weddings, the groom looks tense and the bride looks flustered and there’s a nervous energy all around and everything has to be spick speck perfect? This was nothing like that at all.

In it’s place was a showering of God’s blessings, photo-taking, candy-eating, song-singing and laughter all around. But best of all, the bride and groom held hands, and had huge smiles plastered on their faces throughout. They’ve been together for awhile now, and I love them together. Just so happy and confident in each other. I like to think these are the kind of marriages that last a lifetime. Here’s to many blessed blissful years ahead!

SEOUL TOWER

Posted in 2011, Daren, Korea, Love, New Experiences, Photography, Travel by Kimberly Kristen Wong on October 10, 2011

Possibly the most touristy thing we did on our trip to Seoul was take a cable car up to the Seoul (Namsan) Tower. We whiled awhile, watching martial arts performances and listening to drum beats. And then even though we knew exactly how gimmicky it was, we couldn’t resist – and declared our everlasting love, on (ridiculously expensive) little love lockets.

사랑해 sarang-hae-yo I LOVE YOU

Posted in 2011, Daren, Happy, Love, Personal, Travel by Kimberly Kristen Wong on August 25, 2011

It’s been a month since I boarded a flight home and left a piece of my heart in Korea. This particular photo was the first in a series of 700 trigger-happy-holiday-shots eternalizing 8 days of pure bliss. A teaser photo, and if I may, one that holds a special feeling in my heart.

A quick story behind it: Twas the night before the trip, and I was frantically throwing mismatched separates into my luggage whilst simultaneously complaining that the KRW conversion rate completely boggled boggles my mind. Yes, I own multitasking like that. And so he quietly took a sheet of A4, cut it up neatly, and painstakingly did the dollar to dollar conversion for my shopping convenience. (I ended up asking him everytime I wanted to buy something anyway, but) it’s thoughtful little things like that, that makes me smile, and I’m lucky to have him. ♥

HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU BEEN IN LOVE?

Posted in 2011, Art, Love, Photography, Random by Kimberly Kristen Wong on July 30, 2011

“ Love, I thought to myself abstractedly. Not ‘This is love’ or ‘Is this love?’ Not a sentence, not a certainty, not a thought with moving parts or direction. Just love, all of it, as it is. Whether it’s enough or not. Whether it’s real or we’re making it up. However shoddy it gets, or bent out of shape. It’s still extraordinary. However foolish, however vain. However badly it ends. Love.”

100 Beautiful Balloons!

Posted in 2011, Art, Daren, Events, Family, Friends, Happy, Love, Photography, singapore by Kimberly Kristen Wong on June 23, 2011

I came home from a spa day some two weeks ago to find 100 beautiful black & ivory balloons floating around my bedroom- a lovely lovely surprise from the boyfriend and my mumma♡ Now that the helium’s gone kind of wonky (and gone with it, the special ability that balloons have to fly), they’re sitting pretty in my bathtub instead.    ♥♥♥♥♥♥

I haven’t been here much lately, life’s been a bit of a whirlwind- many many lovely surprises during my birthday week, fell sick from too much wine& too much sun. Recovered just in time for the Hong Kong trip with the pals right after. We got back last weekend, and have somehow still found ourselves seeing each other every single day since. And then today D reported back to commando camp for re-service. It’s been so long since his army days, I can barely remember what it’s like not to see him everyday. So anyway, here I am and here’s to hoping I’ll be back more often x

What looks like crazy on an ordinary day looks alot like love if you catch it in the moonlight

Posted in 2010, Daren, Drinks, Friends, Happy, Lifestyle, London, Love, Nostalgia, Regents Place by Kimberly Kristen Wong on May 2, 2011

“And we danced too wild, and we sang too long, and we hugged too hard, and we kissed too sweet, and we threw back our heads and howled just as loud as we wanted to howl, because by now we were all old enough to know that what looks like crazy on an ordinary day looks a lot like love if you catch it in the moonlight.”

TO HAVE & TO HOLD

Posted in Daren, Events, Festive, Happy, Love, Photography, singapore by Kimberly Kristen Wong on April 5, 2011

Realized I never got around to posting the photos from Er Yi’s (Daren’s second aunt) Wedding last year. They had a beautiful christmas-time wedding at The Singapore Botanical Gardens. To fit with the lush floral theme, there was a lovely pink & green colour palette (as you can see in the pictures). Everything was lovely, everything was warm & fuzzy. There’s something about weddings, that just makes you…. believe.

A Feel Good Day

Posted in 2010, Daren, Family, Friends, Happy, Home, Love, Personal, singapore by Kimberly Kristen Wong on August 23, 2010

I usually hate doing “today I ate this and went there” posts, but I’m gonna have to make an exception. Today was just one of those feel good days, you know?

When I woke up Max was already sprawled out in his favourite spot in my house, with his high speed fan and trusty mosquito coil. He sent me out for high tea at the Ritz with Daren’s Mum & his Yiyi. And then Yiyi and I went shopping around till it was time to meet a seemingly long lost best friend for dinner. Just as my taxi uncle was turning into my street, I got a text from my boy asking when I would be back so that he could see me before he left for home. A couple of bear hugs later, he left and I stuffed my face with ox-tail stew (and a salad nicoise) that Mum spent 8 hours slow-cooking. As we do every night we’re apart, we texted before he fell asleep, and then just when I resisted myself from calling him and waking him up; he rang me, half asleep, and with a simple three little words, I fell for him all over again.

And as I sometimes do, right between the point of awake and dreaming, I wondered how it’s possible to be so completely and overwhelmingly bewitched by someone.
